Job Description

Pay Grade: Non Exempt Salary Schedule (Grade A)

Department: School

Accountable To: Principal

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Creation/Revision Date: October 4, 2018

Summary:

In general direction, incumbent provides assistance and support to the school behavior team by providing student intervention and supervision, completing data entry, and implementing and maintaining systems that are in place at the school.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides assistance and support to school behavior team in discipline matters including but not limited to student intervention, student supervision and Synergy data entries.
  • Implements and delivers pertinent behavioral data to disperse to staff monthly.
  • Implements system to assist Tier 3 level students and behaviors.
  • Participates in school-wide mentoring program to assist Tier 3 level students.
  • Implements effective strategies and programs that may assist in changing procedures with a purpose on improving school culture
  • Acts as a liaison to district and school committees including but not limited to the Child Study team, PBIS team, Safety Team, and the Climate team.
  • Builds positive educations and social relationships with administration, staff, students, parents and other stakeholders.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

To be eligible for this position, an applicant must meet the following required qualifications. Verification of these required qualifications is necessary.

  • High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) prior to being hired, Completion of 60 College Credit Hours, Associates Degree from an accredited college or university, or successfully passed an Arizona State approved paraprofessional test (offered by WESD at no cost and must pass prior to being hired, Please contact HR for more information)
  • Six months of working with children in a learning environment or related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

It is preferred that applicant possesses the following preferred qualifications; however, the following qualifications are not required to be eligible for this position.

  • Proficiency in English and target language;
  • Valid cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate.

  • Demonstrating appropriate techniques and procedures;
  • Facilitating group activities in a learning environment;
  • Applying school rules, policies and procedures;
  • Engaging and encouraging communication skills while interacting with supervisors, staff, students, etc. to exchange information.
  • Knowledge of organizational practices.
  • Skill in organizing and prioritizing work activities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Skill in both verbal and written communication.
  • Skill in the use of personal computers and related software.
