Definition
Definition: Under general supervision of the Infrastructure Manager, will be responsible for providing technical support on all aspects related to cloud computing services, including, software, network, storage, networking, security and application development. This role performs cloud, server, and systems configuration, administration and maintenance duties. This job class is treated as FLSA exempt.

Examples of Tasks
1. Mentoring: Mentors Server Level I & II staff so they attain the technical skills and customer service skills along with experience necessary to perform independently and attain further career progression goals.
2. Supervision: Assists with the routine supervision of assigned Server I & II staff.
8. Enterprise Services: Supports Enterprises services that include, but are not limited to, Exchange, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, File Servers, vSphere virtual environment.
9. Mobile Device Management Administration: Supports the day-to-day operations to include proper operations of the systems, viewing of logs and troubleshooting problems as they arise.
10. Virtual environment - Lead Design and implementation focus.
11. Contract Management: Writes technical requirements for Request for Proposal (RFP) and assembles RFP for review.
12. Project Management: Assumes server related project management duties as assigned on an as-needed basis. Manages activities of IT staff and outside vendors to ensure project completion.
13. Security: Providing security for cloud-based platforms and protecting a Community data.
14. Monitoring: Monitors systems and implements preventative measures to ensure server "Up-Time"
15. On Call: Participates in a rotating on-call after-hours work schedule.
16. Documentation: Creates documentation as needed pertaining to standards and procedures including a document changes manual.
17. Miscellaneous: Performs other IT job related tasks as assigned by the Server Operations Manager, Assistant IT Director (Infrastructure & Operations) or IT Director.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics:
Minimum Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline. (Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted for a four-year degree).
Experience:
1. Ten (10) years working in IT, professional services, and/or customer support organizations including hands-on experience in server implementation, monitoring, managing, troubleshooting and reporting.
2. Six (6) years of experience in supporting, managing, troubleshooting the latest version of Windows Sever Operations system and supporting Windows networked client workstations.
3. Five (5) years of experience with deploying large scale enterprise-scale applications using Azure Cloud Platform (SaaS), including the use case for SaaS platforms
Equivalency: Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience that would allow the candidate to satisfactorily perform the duties of this position, will be considered.

- Prioritizes and coordinates staff workflow and provides training and assistance as needed.
- Assist with ticket queue management and distributes tickets to other server staff as appropriate.
- Acts as a single point of contact and/or performs other Supervisory duties when Manager is unavailable.
- Works with Manager in developing training plan and in providing feedback in development goals for Server I & II.
- Works with Manager in developing operational budget and capital improvement plans.
- Recommends IT Server related Best Business Practices for server and network support services and helps develop server support services to support the Tribal Government needs.
- Oversee vendor relationships, including building and managing relationship with companies that supply products and services and ensure vendor meets or exceeds contractual obligations by delivering quality products and services on time and providing quality support services.
- Responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of cloud infrastructure solutions.
- Responsible to design, develop, test, deploy, troubleshoot, support and maintain a wide range or large-scale deployment of enterprise applications in Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Configure and administer cloud computing technologies, infrastructure, and system applications to meet the Community's requirements with a focus on Operations and security.
- Assist and support the design, deployment, management, and operation of scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems in the cloud.
- Provides design input, collaborating with customer service and analysts on project milestones, and analyzing weaknesses and recommending system improvements to Cloud environments.
- Views and analyzes summary data on cloud resource deployments and takes appropriate action.
- Maintain and monitor cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, MS Azure, Office 365).
- Monitors requests and key metrics for cloud resources, as well as the performance of systems in the cloud and directs remediation.
- Troubleshoots issues and plans for future cloud capacity requirements.
- Develops roadmap and business case for capacity growth.
- Identifies and documents product bugs and feature requests and works with internal support teams, external providers, as well as customers to implement effective solutions.
- Supports and leads the evaluation of new service offerings from Cloud Service Providers.
- May provide work direction to other staff as a technical lead.
- Provide recommendations related to leveraging proper licensing models.
- Manages and supports multiple cloud environments.
- Migration of on-premise workloads to the cloud based platforms.
- Work with Customer Care Division on delivery of training to end users and user adoption.
- Develop communication plans and methods for Community Wide notification on changes to productivity tools moving to cloud.
- Installs and maintains Windows servers and all related processes including backup/restore, security policies and virus protection, tuning, capacity planning and monitoring of all resources to ensure high availability of services.
- Detects, analyzes, diagnoses and resolves problems associated with server hardware, server operating systems and server application software.
- Provides Level III support for incident resolution and root cause analysis, to include storage and network devices.
- Monitors usage and performance for Support of Windows server systems as both Physical and Virtual Machines.
- Participates in project related activities such as system builds, application installation and configurations.
- Coordinates server hardware installation and system replacements (racking hardware and OS installation).
- Documents OS and application installation and configuration steps.
- Work with vendors to diagnose, resolve and upgrade Linux based servers and appliances.
8. Enterprise Services: Supports Enterprises services that include, but are not limited to, Exchange, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, File Servers, vSphere virtual environment.
- Specifies and selects servers based on cost and benefit analysis.
- Ensures proper delivery of server hardware and software as per technical specifications.
- Assist in creation of disaster recovery and business continuity procedures.
- Mitigate and remediate vulnerabilities as necessary.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures regarding security practices and operational processes.
- Designs, develops, tests and coordinates modifications to the E-Mail system to support user needs.
9. Mobile Device Management Administration: Supports the day-to-day operations to include proper operations of the systems, viewing of logs and troubleshooting problems as they arise.
- Maintains overall system health, including planning and executing upgrades.
- Researches new features and present to management team for review and feedback on direction.
- Maintains both on-premise and cloud based solutions.
10. Virtual environment - Lead Design and implementation focus.
- Provides roadmaps for the Community's virtual infrastructure, including upgrade schedules.
- Performs and or provides leadership when upgrading the Community's virtual infrastructure.
- Works with Network and Storage systems administrators to ensure proper configuration and optimal performance.
- Oversight of policies, standards and procedures to ensure a consistent architecture and management through the infrastructure.
11. Contract Management: Writes technical requirements for Request for Proposal (RFP) and assembles RFP for review.
- Works with the Purchasing Division to qualify and select vendor(s) through the competitive bid process.
- Responsible for monitoring the contract from its inception to closure each fiscal year and includes the entire bid process and contract performance monitoring.
12. Project Management: Assumes server related project management duties as assigned on an as-needed basis. Manages activities of IT staff and outside vendors to ensure project completion.
- Lead projects through the entire project life cycle, from envisioning, to implementation into production.
- Manages all aspects, to include managing the schedule, resources and budget.
- Provide leadership roles, project updates and escalates issues with schedule, resources and budget on a timely basis.
13. Security: Providing security for cloud-based platforms and protecting a Community data.
- Support the Cybersecurity Division in implementing security remediation's and findings related to best practice and incident management.
- Support the Cybersecurity Division with threat simulations to assist in detecting possible risks and providing security recommendations that will enhance security of cloud-based environments.
- Support the Cybersecurity Division to identify, manage and resolve cloud computing security risks and implement best practices as directed by the Cybersecurity Division.
14. Monitoring: Monitors systems and implements preventative measures to ensure server "Up-Time"
