Who you are

The Portfolio Manager is responsible for successful execution of Desert Financials investment strategy which includes managing the portfolio that exceeds $4.0 billion, on a day-to-day basis. The Portfolio Manager will work with the Investment Committee to define strategy, and review and update, on a quarterly basis. The position will provide proposals, research, and analytical support on a variety of investment strategies and products. S/he will meet with the investment committee on a monthly basis to review trends, trades and market performance including the performance to the investment strategy in the current Market.

A typical week might include the following...

Implement and execute Desert Financials investment strategy.

Provide proposals, research, and analytical support on a variety of investment strategies and products.

Source, analyze, trade and monitor individual securities primarily in the municipal, corporate, and government sectors.

Contribute to Desert Financials overall investment strategy as a member of the investment committee.

Contribute to Desert Financials overall business as a member of the Asset/Liability Committee.

Maintain Broker Dealer relationships to ensure proper coverage and best execution.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

This role might be for you if you have...

Chartered Financial Analyst designation

Bachelors degree in Finance, Business, Mathematics, or related field.

10 years of related experience.

5 years of experience as a Portfolio Manager or Trader.

Extensive knowledge of financial markets/instruments/regulations, economic theories and relationships, and valuation tools particularly as it relates to fixed income investing.

Demonstrated proficiency in Bloomberg software system.

Demonstrated expertise in Excel and other research/data compilation tools.

Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively manage multiple projects at one time.

Excellent communication skills and ability to work with other team members toward a common goal.

Demonstrated proficiency in statistics, financial mathematics, corporate finance, portfolio management, and multi-factor investing.

Flexibility and adaptability to a dynamic environment within a growing firm.

High level of integrity and strong ethical standards.

Bonus points if you have...

Asset/Liability Management experience.
