Software Support Specialist- Human Resources
Job Description
THIS POSITION IS A GRADE 15 ON THE SUPPORT STAFF NON-EXEMPT SALARY SCHEDULE.
PLACEMENT RANGE= $22.28 TO $24.35, DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE.
JOB SUMMARY
The Software Support Specialist maintains all software applications related to Human Resources.
Provides technical assistance for all software applications related to Human Resources.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties as assigned
- Research, resolve, and respond to incoming software support questions in a timely manner.
- Provides primary support for School District Employee Report.
- Prepares, organizes, and schedules professional development related to HR-specific software applications.
- Maintain a working relationship with school office staff and provide support for systems management tools that monitor the operational status of the District.
- Monitor and maintain the logging and tracking of calls using a work order management database and maintaining history records and related problem resolution documentation.
- Manage, monitor, and maintain the Districts electronic personnel action request (EPAR) system.
- Maintains Title I related certification data for certified staff.
- Maintains employee evaluation database.
- Compiles departmental reporting as needed.
- Responsible for electronic generation and distribution of employee contracts/work agreements.
- Maintains integrity of time clock system data.
- Provide assistance with support calls for time clock system editors and provide training to users.
- Provide technical support for the Districts HR/Financial system for all departments.
- Attend local user group meetings quarterly.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- None
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- 2-3 years experience working in a Microsoft applications environment (ex: Word, Excel, Access).
- Experience with help desk or software support.
- Experience with ADE website, Infinite Visions, substitute tracking software, applicant tracking software, and background check software.
- Knowledge of Windows 10, Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, and Microsoft Remote Desktop preferred.
- 1-year experience in Human Resources preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from administrators, staff and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to interface effectively with other departments, school personnel, other maintenance staff, and business contacts from outside of the District.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to accurately perform assigned tasks.
- Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and School Board Policies.
- Ability to promote harmonious working relationships with staff and outside business representatives.
- Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills.
