Listed is the base hiring salary range offered for this position. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to skills and experience. The salary range listed is just one component of the total rewards/compensation package offered to candidates.
Min = $20.95
Mid = $26.19
Max = $31.43

Summary:

The Sterile Processing Technician I is responsible for the cleaning, disinfecting, assembling and maintenance of specialized surgical instrumentation, equipment, and related surgical supplies. This individual operates sterilization equipment and washer decontaminators and is responsible for assisting with maintaining multiple department levels of instruments by delivering instruments as required.


Responsibilities:

Participates in orientation and training for sterile processing techniques and equipment

Independently cleans, decontaminates and sterilizes instrumentation and medical equipment utilizing chemical agents, high/low temperature sterilizers and automated decontamination machinery.

Applies knowledge to assemble, prep, and pack instrumentation accurately and efficiently.

Participates in orientation and training program to attain competency in sterilization methods and instrumentation care and assembly.

Demonstrates knowledge of instrumentation care and assembly

Demonstrates knowledge and appropriate use of various sterilization techniques and high-level disinfection Techniques.

Demonstrates knowledge related to use of decontamination and sterilization equipment in the department.

Demonstrates ability to problem-solve in relation to instrumentation and sterilization.

Utilizes resources appropriately (such as Manufacturer Instructions for Use)

Seeks guidance appropriately.


Education:
Essential:
* HS DIPLOMA/GED

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: High School Diploma or GED

    MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 0 years experience

    Healthcare experience is preferred
