Job Description:

Under the leadership of the department director and the supervision of an RN, the Surgical Technician is responsible and accountable for working intra-operatively in the preparation and handling of supplies and equipment to maintain a safe and therapeutic surgical environment for the patients in accordance with the policies and procedures of the hospital and department. Important dimensions of this position consist of quality of care, professional commitment, teamwork, interpersonal skills, safety, good public/customer relations and a broad professional knowledge.

Experience:

A minimum of one year scrub experience as a Surgical Technician in the last 3 years in an acute care hospital operating room preferred.

Education:

High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent work experience in related field.

Licensure/Certification:

American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS is required.
