System Safety Engineer / Specialist 0619-14 with Security Clearance

Title: System Safety Engineer / Specialist Location: Huntsville, Alabama Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities will include technical evaluation of developer's safety analyses/documentation submitted in support of Army airworthiness; preparation of supplemental safety evaluations and risk assessments using variety of analysis techniques including, but not limited to, FHAs, FTAs, CMA, PRA, ZSA, FMEAs, safety cases using Goal Structuring Notation, and safety assessment reports; definition of safety review criterion; definition of methods and process for capturing review evidence; definition of safety requirements to support airworthiness qualification; and actively participate in IPTs, working groups, review panels, requirement and design reviews, and program reviews. Applicant must be able to apply system safety methodologies and experience to mechanical, electrical, and avionics/software-based systems and equipment; define design and operational approaches for the solution of non-compliances or unacceptable risk; and coordinate issue resolution with program management, design organizations, and airworthiness organizations. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * BS in engineering and at least 7 years of system safety experience
* Experience in performing and evaluating system safety analyses and assessment for complex integrated systems, fixed-wing aircraft, and/or rotorcraft using various methodologies such as FHAs, FTAs, common mode, particular risk, zonal safety, FMEAs, safety cases using Goal Structuring Notation, and safety assessment reports
* Experience with application of SAE ARP4754A and ARP4761
* Knowledge and adaptability to MIL-STD-882E analyses and processes, as well as, Def-STAN-056
* Good communication skills in preparing technical reports and active participation in working groups and program and design reviews
* Must be able to travel (15-25%)
* Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the required level
