ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS:
Applicants will need to pass a hands-on assessment which will test the applicants
ability to utilize tools used by the Data Team division to perform/complete daily tasks.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:
The Systems Engineer assists in the oversight of operations of secure and highly available computing platforms,
servers, and networks. The Systems Engineer will participate in the design, installation, configuration, testing,
maintenance, upgrading, and continuous improvement of Gila River Indian Communityis IT Infrastructure to
include PC/sewer operating systems, networks, and related utilities and hardware. This position also maintains
the ongoing reliability, performance and support of the infrastructure. This includes monitoring the operating
environments; responding to incidents, problems, planning for growth and is also responsible for the overall
operation and maintenance of the data center.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


- Troubleshooting: Diagnoses and resolves complex hardware, software and connectivity problems for
multiple systems or applications of varying complexity with multiple concurrent users, ensuring control,
integrity, and accessibility.
0 Monitoring of IT Infrastructure: Monitors system-operating capacity in terms of (e.g., disk space, storage,
and CPU utilization). Monitors hardware/software activities and resources utilization for capacity planning.
The environment monitored consists of the following technologies:0 Windows, Linux and Unix servers (both physical and virtual)
0 Microsoft Exchange Systems
0 Infrastmcture Storage resources
0 SQL Database technology platforms
0 Documentation: Develops, maintains, recommends, documents, and supports tools and back-end systems.
0 Documents, monitors, reports, and manages the resolution of systemic issues.
0 Documents new or modified functions, modules, and test activities/results.
o Writes reviews and/or maintains technical documentation for product environments.
0 Ensures documentation is developed and maintained.o Assists in developing documentation for new infrastructure solutions.
0 Perform other related duties as required.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILL AND ABILITY:0 Ability to follow documented best practices and support procedures.
0 Ability to maintain inventory and asset configuration documentation.
0 Ability to follow established procedures to maintain Server Infrastructure and Data Center Network.
0 Ability to provide administration and technical support of core Microsoft, Cisco, Citrix, Dell EMC andVMware technologies.Knowledge of Windows Server (2000/2016)/desktop Operating Systems (XP/ 10).
0 Knowledge of LAN/W AN networking.
0 Ability to provide technical support and management of both physical and virtual server technologies,Microsoft Windows Servers, Servers/Client Security Controls (Windows, Linux, and Unix based),DataCenter Security controls, Group Policy, Microsoft IIS, Microsoft SQL, Enterprise Exchange System,Microsoft PKI, Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) systems, Secure Encrypted email and file systems,NTFS/CIFS/shared file/folder structure, permissions, and security, Data Backups and Archiving,Linux/UNIX systems, Active Directory/LDAP user and groups, IT Storage technologies, Data CenterNetwork technologies.Ability to troubleshoot network issues.Ability to support Public Safety Systems.Possess strong communication and documentation skills.Ability to be ?exible and able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.Must be organized and have the ability to manage projects of varying length.Ability to provide Tier 3 or 4 engineering support for MIS Department.Ability to provide after-hours support for Infrastructure related emergencies as well as weekendmaintenance.Demonstrate the ability to interact with customers and staff at the technical level, as required.
0 Ability to perform in a high stress environment, which requires a high level of time management and quick
decision making skills.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:


- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Management Information
Systems, or a closely related ?eld and three (3) years experience in information technology in the design and
implementation of complex applications, systems management, and/or operations, or closely related
experience; Or0 Associate7s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Management Information
Systems, or closely related ?eld and ?ve (5) years experience in information technology, in the design and
implementation of complex applications, systems management, and/or operations, or closely related
experience; Or0 High School diploma or GED and seven (7) years experience in information technology in the design and
implementation of complex applications, systems management, operations, or closely related experience.ADDITIONAL RE ZUIREMENTS:
0 Must obtain one (1) of the following certifications within one (1) year:
- Microsoft Certified Solutions AssociateiServer,
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert - Core Infrastructure,
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert - Productivity,
- Cisco Certified Network Associate - Data Center,
- Cisco Certified Network Professional - Security,
- Dell EMC Storage Specialist,
- VMWare Certified Professional 7 Data Center Virtualization,

- ITIL Foundations.

- ITIL Foundations Training will be provided.
0 Required to pass a background check.
0 Required to obtain a Tribal Operator7s permit. Valid state drivers license with a current proof of driving
record for the past 39 months will be required to qualify for a tribal driving permit. Proof of driving
record must be submitted with application and must not be more than 60 days old from the date of
