Brandes Associates Inc. is seeking qualified candidates to serve as a Software Systems Engineer with horizontal integration experience for a Department of Defense (DoD) program at Camarillo/Point Mugu CA. Responsibilities: The Software Systems Engineer will be responsible for identifying and assessing integration and interoperability (I&I) challenges, developing and evaluating I&I solutions, assessing integration testing approaches, and interface management.
The Software Systems Engineer will suggest possible integration, and system-of-system testing strategies; and other approaches that are appropriate for the program.
The Software Systems Engineer will use general principles and implement best practices for managing interfaces, with special attention to doing so in a complex, interconnected, and service-based enterprise. Qualifications:
Between 3 and 10 years of experience performing the duties described in the functional description.
Experience integrating newly developed components into the environment in which they are expected to operate.
Requires horizontal integration experience - creating new capabilities across individual systems developed by different acquisition programs.
Experience overseeing testing of the newly assembled system to verify that it performs in accordance with its requirements.
Software-related experience, such as programming/development, testing, script writing, etc. is a plus.
Experience with the integration of complex applications, DI2E development tools, Atlassian issue tracking application, Jira bug tracking and agile project management.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills-verbal, non-verbal, written, and listening-for staff, customer and organizational level communications, both formal and informal.
Ability to work independently or lead a small team; self-starter.
Working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office suite programs, MS Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
Working at the customer's site with government personnel to ensure program success. Education: BS or BA degree in Computer Science or equivalent engineering discipline. Clearance: Condition of employment - must have and maintain an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
