ABOUT THE SCHOOL/DEPARTMENT
Welchester Elementary School is truly an amazing and diverse small school serving 270 students in the Golden area of Jefferson County. We are 70% FRL and 30% minority. We are proud to have a center-based program that supports students' with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

We cultivate and grow self-directed learners and citizens who contribute positively to their communities through school-wide authentic experiences and Gold Standard Project Based Learning practices. Students are learning to use technology as a tool to communicate, collaborate and innovate through 1:1 devices.

Welchester is a restorative school. Every day, every classroom in the building has community building circles, and informal conferences are facilitated in order to resolve conflict and repair harm. We are about passion and joy, and community with a restorative culture. Students in grades K-3 receive social emotional learning in Brainwise and students in 4th & 5th receive instruction in Second Step.

Welchester Elementary is a collaborative, Professional Learning community that takes collective ownership for its students' learning and results. Teachers at Welchester get 90 minutes of additional time per week in PLCs. In the spirit of a growth-mindset, we as a staff continually work to improve upon our strengths and deepen our teaching practices through professional learning communities and 1.5 instructional coaches to support teacher growth. Welchester is a high-achieving, professional learning community with about 300 students, located in Golden, Colorado. We have a strong commitment to students, staff development, collaboration and learning. Teachers at Welchester use progress monitoring methods to regularly assess student achievement, set goals and change instruction to best meet the needs to individual students. We often meet to reflect and analyze data to determine the impact of our teaching and to learn and implement new teaching strategies.

Min-Mid Annual Salary Range: $39,922.80 - $56,155.10

RESPONSIBILITIES
SUMMARY: Responsible for instructing students in an elementary grades K-6. Creates lesson plans, instructs students on core subjects such as science, literature, and math, and creates a well-rounded, comprehensive instructional preparedness based on the District's Core Curriculum. Create instructional resources for use in the classroom.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities.

Create positive educational climate for students to learn in.

Meet course and school-wide student performance goals.

Participate in ongoing training sessions.

Create lesson plans and modify accordingly throughout the year.

Grade papers and perform other administrative duties as needed.

Read and stay abreast of current topics in education.

Utilize various curriculum resources and technologies to enhance student learning.

Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans.

Utilize District curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served.

Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.

Prepare and distribute parent communications.

Observe and evaluate student's performance.

Manage student behavior in the classroom creating appropriate behavior strategies.
