Job Description

EdPlus is currently seeking a highly-motivated and energetic technical Project Manager. This candidate works closely and collaboratively with stakeholders to plan, direct, organize, and execute against project requirements. The ideal candidate will identify and acquire necessary resources and coordinate efforts by all parties to ensure timely delivery of project outcomes in accordance with sponsor expectations. The responsibilities are broad in scope, encompassing a wide variety of activities requiring shifts in priorities. This candidate will take initiative, demonstrate a sense of urgency, use good organizational skills, build a project team, and follow through on commitments to achieve high-quality, repeatable results.

Salary Range

$55,510 -$80,000 per year; DOE

Essential Duties

·       Plans, develops, implements, and manages a project team through project scope, complete task definition, and work requirement identification and assignment. 

·       Builds, develops, and maintains collaborative working relationships across the university and third-party vendors vital to project success, including managing stakeholders, differing priorities, and conflict resolution. 

·       Works closely and collaboratively with key stakeholders, leadership, and other related staff to define project objectives and scope, strategy, schedule, budget, quality, procedures, and outcomes during various phases of a project life cycle. 

·       Identifies critical resource expertise and targets appropriate internal and/or external sources to ensure optimal outcome(s). 

·       Assigns tasks and identifies issues for resolution to ensure optimal team effectiveness. 

·       Establishes and continually monitors/manages project objectives and expectations with the team, clarifying roles and responsibilities where needed.

·       Manages, coaches, and supervises all project team members both internal and contracted third parties to ensure optimal outcomes. 

·       Prepares and maintains all project status reports; tracks milestones/deliverables, risks, critical paths and dependencies; develops roadmaps and iterative project plans; resets expectations as needed in consideration of project progress/outcomes. 

·       Responds to all inquiries regarding project status, serves as liaison for all project teams at meetings, and communicates relevant project information to business and technical personnel; prepares and responds to all regulatory reporting/filings to ensure compliance.

·       Prepares all post-project reports, budget allocations and summaries/filings to ensure timely dissemination of information to all interested parties. 

·       Assumes, coordinates, and/or manages other duties or projects as assigned or directed to successfully deliver projects. 

 

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 5 years related experience; 1 of which are in project management, or any equivalent combination of experience and /or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

 

Desired Qualifications

·       Evidence of a Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.

·       Experience developing strategies and technical specifications for projects, ability to manage complex technology projects.

·       Demonstrated knowledge of higher education learning management systems; experience with Canvas is a plus.

·       Experience managing software development life cycle from inception to delivery on projects that include new product versions, enhancements, and iterative software deployments.

·       Experience in developing and managing strategic partnerships and partnering with leadership, stakeholders, and sponsor to build new ideas and products.

·       Experience managing IT projects.

·       Experience with Jira.

·       Experience with data projects.

·       Experience with design thinking.

·       Experience working with academic units.

·       Evidence of a PMP certification.

·       Evidence of a Scrum Master or Scrum Product Owner Certification.

·       Evidence of a degree or training in computer science, software engineering, information management, or a related field. 

·       Experience managing technology-driven projects, such as implementing new

·       technologies, integrating technologies together, or data and reporting projects.

·       Demonstrated knowledge of available project management applications and associated project specific technology requirements.

·       Demonstrated knowledge of using standard project management and change management practices.

·       Demonstrated knowledge of organizational development and practices to identify opportunities for change and convey the need for change.

·       Demonstrated knowledge using various project management methodologies to achieve project objectives.

 

Working Environment

EdPlus at ASU is located at SkySong, the ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center. The center houses a diverse business community that links technology, research, education and entrepreneurship to position ASU and Greater Phoenix as global leaders in the knowledge economy.

·       Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting or standing.

·       Daily use of desktop or laptop computer is required.

·       Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential duties.

·       Regular review of completed tasks.
