The purpose for the Temporary Pool is to assist the Gila River Indian Community Departments/Programs to
recruit from the Temporary Pool in filling any vacant positions. This also provides the opportunity for applicants
to gain more work experience and become familiar with working for the Gila River Indian Community.
The vacant positions could possibly be pending for advertisement and based on the departments’ needs, the
department will request assistance from the Human Resources Department in filling a position on a temporary
basis. The positions may vary from general clerical, laborer, groundskeeper, van driver, cook to highly
specialized positions. This would include HVAC Technician, Building Maintenance and Administrative
positions that may require a higher level of experience, education and/or certifications. In addition, some
positions may require background checks, fingerprint checks and must clear adjudication.
On a request for temporary hire, applicants must meet the required experience and education (if applicable), also
if a Tribal Permit is required for a position, applicants must have a current/valid drivers’ license and be able to
obtain a Tribal Permit.
Preference would apply for consideration in Temporary Requests, (1) Enrolled GRIC community members, (2)
Enrolled member of a federally recognized Indian tribe and other qualified and eligible applicant.
