Job Description: | ||||||||||||
Visitation Monitor: Under the direct supervision of the Program Manager. Will monitor all supervised visits and exchanges for clients receiving services.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: HS Diploma or high school equivalency plus one (1) year work related experience working directly with children, youth and parents. Considerable knowledge of the basic needs of children and youth, techniques of crisis intervention, behavior management and the principles and practices of children and youth supervision. Must possess good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to exhibit emotional maturity and good judgement, to include high standards of morals and speech. Must have a broad knowledge of community problems particularly in the area of parent custody issues, child abuse and neglect and the effects on children. Must be able to establish an effective rapport with children, youth and parents that are utilizing Neutral Corner services. Must be dependable and flexible with regards to working hours.
JOB CHARACTERISTICS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This is a professional position which requires organizational and communication skills, as well as judgment, tact and diplomacy in contacts with YDI employees, community residents, parents and local government agencies. Strict adherence is required to all regulation concerning confidentiality. Good general health. Background investigation to include fingerprinting will be required. Physical and TB Skin test is required upon hire, and may be required intermittently. Frequent travel is required by employee and proof of satisfactory car insurance is required.
