TITLE:    Warehouse Person

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Require high school diploma or GED Certificate.
  2. Require high math aptitude – can perform arithmetic functions without a calculator.
  3. Lift and manipulate equipment and materials, weighing up to 50 lbs.
  4. Organize and meet deadlines.
  5. Handle materials and perform general clerical duties.
  6. Ability to work in the outside environment for entire shift.
  7. Use standard office equipment and machines including, but not limited to, the following: copy machine, computer, telephone, printer, calculator or adding machine, fax, and scanning equipment.
  8. Relate to students, staff and public in a positive manner.

JOB GOAL:

Responsible for receiving, storing and shipping of materials and equipment for district sites. Responsible for the safe and timely movement of equipment and supplies to district buildings. Assist in maintaining integrity of fixed assets.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Verify and keep records on incoming/outgoing shipments.
  2. Compare identifying information and counts, weighs or measures items of incoming shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records.
  3. Unpack and examine incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages
  4. Route items to sites.
  5. Ensure all receiving documents are properly maintained and sent to A/P Bookkeeper.
  6. Communicate with vendors to expedite delivery of orders.
  7. Load, stock, fill and deliver supply orders to district sites.
  8. Take periodic physical inventory, assisting with annual physical inventory in June.
  9. Work with buyer to ensure that high-demand stock items are never depleted.
  10. Properly tags all fixed assets and technology equipment for property control purposes.
  11. Adhere to building and safety codes.
  12. Keep warehouse clean.
  13. Substitute as district courier as needed.
  14. Understand and apply safety precautions as outlined in MSDS.
  15. Read all label and job related information.
  16. Report any and all citations issued by police agencies for moving violations.
  17. Contribute to the team by accomplishing additional duties as assigned.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents in English as well as the ability to write routine correspondence in English. Ability to speak effectively in English before groups of customer or employees.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations / issues. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and verbal form.

 

EVALUATION:

Performance will be evaluated by the District Purchasing Supervisor.

SUPERVISION:

Supervised by the District Purchasing Supervisor.  Exercises no supervisory duties.

 

GRADE / SALARY SCHEDULE / LENGTH OF WORK YEAR:

Grade 13   Salary Range $14.58-$23.45

52 Weeks / 40 hrs per week / M-F / Benefits
