Job Description

OBJECTIVE AND POSITION SUMMARY

The Case Manager will provide comprehensive services to participants of CPLC's WIOA Adult, Dislocated Worker and Youth Programs. The Case Manager will manage a case load of Adult, Dislocated Worker (DW) and youth participants according to WIOA regulations to receive work readiness, leadership development, training services and academic support to meet common measures. The Case Manager will be responsible for ensuring quality and timely service provision to program participants, as well as conduct outreach and recruitment of Adult, DW and youth customers.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Provide on-going assistance, mentoring and guidance to program participants through individual case management.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all files and records, maintaining compliance with federal, state and local laws, regulations, guidance, policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain contacts with community organizations and educational institutions for the purpose of outreach, recruitment and positive public relations.
  • Prepare and submit all documentation needed for enrolling Adult, DW and Youth clients intothe statewide database system.
  • Coach and prepare participants in interviewing, work etiquette and work skills.
  • Administer assessments and develop Individual Employment Plan (IEP) or Individual Service Strategy (ISS).
  • Responsible for meeting with, contacting and providing services to participants per program policy and guidelines adhering to timeframe.
  • Update case notes and files per contractual and CPLC's requirements.
  • Facilitate placement into full-time employment and provide supportive services that help to remove potential barriers to employment.
  • Work with schools, employers and training providers to ensure that participants are making progress.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff, employers and other funded partners to ensure program success.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

Education /Background :
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Associates or Bachelors degrees are preferred, but not necessary.

Other requirements :
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal skills, public speaking, problem-solving, analytical skills, multi-tasking, organizational skills, leadership, and time management.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & Office365 (Preferred).
  • Must be able to work with disadvantaged youth and adults.
  • Experience providing direct services to youth and adults (preferred).
  • Experience providing case management services to disadvantaged youth and adults(preferred).•Related work experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in an active environment.
  • Knowledge of social services and workforce-related agencies and programs available in the community.
  • Must have valid driver's license.
  • Must have current Arizona Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card or ability to obtain one within 30days of employment.
  • Must pass a background screening prior to start.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
  • Have the cultural competency to engage with youth, adults, and employers.
  • Recognizes that program participants they will spend time with people who may have many challenges and barriers.

Effective January 3, 2022, all CPLC Employees and all Service Providers, are required to be Fully Vaccinated against COVID-19. Newly hired employees, who are not Fully Vaccinated at the time of hire, are expected to begin a vaccination series immediately upon hire. CPLC recognizes medical and religious exemptions to the COVID-19 vaccination requirement, in accordance with applicable law and upon approval by CPLC. However, any person approved for an exemption, without exception, is subject to masking, weekly COVID-19 testing at their expense, and other requirements established by CPLC from time to time.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Position requirements: This position is both a mobile and a sedentary position with periods of light physical activity, and is performed mostly in office surroundings. Positions typical in nature require regular walking or standing; sitting, lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds; climbing stairs, bending, reaching, holding, grasping and turning objects; and using fingers to operate computer keyboards. This position will require the ability to speak normally and to use normal or aided vision and hearing.

Travel: Local, interstate and intrastate travel to Chicanos Por La Causa, Inc., its affiliates and/or subsidiaries, will be necessary to successfully fulfill the duties of this position. Candidate must have and maintain a valid driver's license and auto insurance. Technology will be utilized to minimize travel whenever feasible. The travel requirements for this position are anticipated to be 25 to 35 percent assignment depending. Overnight travel must be approved in advance by the Department VP.
