In response to the humanitarian crisis at America's ports of entry, (CPLC) Chicanos por la Causa will be providing short-term shelter care services for unaccompanied children who have come to the United States without a parent or legal guardian. (CPLC) Chicanos por la Causa will provide extremely high-quality, trauma-informed residential and educational services for unaccompanied children, with intense supports for their social and emotional health. We will also ensure they receive excellent and immediate physical healthcare including pediatric, dental and nutritional supports for every child.


(CPLC's) Chicanos por la Causa ultimate goal is to ensure every unaccompanied child who receives our services is successfully and quickly discharged into the loving care of their family sponsor and, during the short time they are with us, have received best-in-class medical, therapeutic, recreational and educational services designed specifically to address the traumas they have sustained during, and often before, their migration journey.

Actively assist children with their individualized plans for daily living.

Ensure our individuals are safe, healthy, and living in a clean, compassionate and therapeutic environment.

Assist with the planning, implementation, and documentation of programs designed to meet children's social, emotional, physical and personal needs.

Being a part of an interactive team that includes; nursing, education, therapists, psychiatrists and you.

Shop for necessities such as food, clothing and household items.

Schedule and transport children to doctor's appointments and other important activities.





Be required to work 3 different shifts (6:00am to 2:00pm, 2:00pm to 10:00pm, 10:00pm to 6:00am)

  • Be 21 years of age or older (required)


  • Bilingual Spanish preferred.
  • Have a minimum of a High School Diploma/GED
  • Must have a valid driver's license and meet company standards for insurability.
  • Be empathetic and have a team approach to care for our individuals.
  • Have excellent verbal communication skills


  • Be energetic, creative, and have a sense of humor
  • Be able to attend ten days of in-house orientation on weekdays
  • Be able to lift up to 50+ pounds and perform Safe and Positive Approaches


Desired skills (Not required)

  • Be a certified medical assistant
  • Have experience as a certified medical assistant
