YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PRACTITIONER: Under the supervision of the Program Director. Responsible for recruitment, certification, and monitoring of participants for the Youth Comprehensive Service Program (WIOA). MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma plus six (6) years experience working with youth in the areas of employment and job/life skills training, and related areas dealing with youth employment/education issues. Extensive knowledge of community resources and ability to work efficiently with public and private agency professionals. Broad knowledge of assessment, service planning and service coordination in working with adolescents and families. Ability to exhibit an emotional maturity and good judgment, to include high standards of morals and speech. JOB CHARACTERISTICS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This is a professional position which requires organizational and communication skills, as well as judgment, tact and diplomacy in contacts with YDI employees, business employers, community residents, parents and local government agencies. Strict adherence is required to all regulations concerning confidentiality. Physical and TB Skin test is required upon hire, and may be required intermittently. A background investigation to include fingerprinting will be required. Frequent travel is required. Must have a clean driving record and have car insurance as required by NM State law. Youth Development, Inc. is an at-will employer. Employment is by mutual consent of the company and employee, and either may terminate the relationship at any time with or without cause or advance notice. This job is contingent upon funding; however, availability of funding is not a guarantee of continued employment, nor does it imply any specific term of employment.
