Youth Facilitator

This in-person position is responsible for creating and supporting dynamic youth enrichment programming serving vulnerable youth K-12 grades in one of the poorest neighborhoods in Phoenix. The ideal candidate enjoys making a difference in young people's lives, can learn the power of mentorship, and enjoys developing recreation activities for youth."
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
To serve as a positive role model to program participants and their families and provide encouragement and support. Participate as part of an interdisciplinary team that encourages educational STEAM objectives, positive, healthy lifestyles, and after-school youth programming activities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND COMPETENCIES
Effective January 3, 2022, all CPLC Employees and all Service Providers, are required to be Fully Vaccinated against COVID-19. Newly hired employees, who are not Fully Vaccinated at the time of hire, are expected to begin a vaccination series immediately upon hire. CPLC recognizes medical and religious exemptions to the COVID-19 vaccination requirement by applicable law and upon approval by CPLC. However, any person approved for an exemption, without exception, is subject to masking.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school or AA degree and equivalent experience in social or behavioral science, criminal justice, recreation, or a closely related field.
- Relevant experience facilitating youth and prevention services.
- Must have a schedule that allows for the fulfillment of position responsibilities.
- Bilingual preferred.
SPECIALIZATIONS
- Knowledge of working with youth
- Skill in oral and written communication
- Skill in small group facilitation
- STEM/STEAM Programming Experience
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND COMPETENCIES
- Coordinate assigned Youth Empowerment Program activities, including planning and implementing STEAM enrichment activities for after-school programming.
- Responsible for all grant reporting deliverables
- Act as a representative for CPLC Community Center & Rec Centers
- Work closely with program staff (program coordinator, prevention program, outreach staff)
- Assist in community outreach and events.
- Able to have a flexible schedule (with notice) for some evenings and scheduled Saturdays
- Daily reports documenting youth participant's STEAM enrichment activities
- Assume duties as designated by the Community Center Coordinator to ensure the proper and continued function of community-based centers
- Reliable transportation
- Valid Driver's License and clean MVD record to use company vehicles
- Able to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card (employer will cover expenses)
- Able to obtain a Food Handlers card (employer will cover expenses)
- Able to adhere to CDC COVID-19 pandemic protocols and testing/vaccination requirements and or employment health policies
- Other duties as assigned
